CTET (Central Teacher Eligibility Test) Paper 1 is for candidates aspiring to become teachers for classes 1 to 5. The exam consists of five compulsory sections. In-depth preparation of each section is essential. Detailed syllabus is as follows:
🧠 1. Child Development & Pedagogy – 30 Questions (30 marks): Principles of child development (Piaget, Vygotsky, Kohlberg), Learning theories, Inclusive education, children with special needs, learning stages, motivation, memory & forgetting, teaching-learning materials, assessment (CCE), guidance & counseling.
📖 2. Language I - Hindi – 30 Questions (30 marks): Hindi grammar (Noun, Pronoun, Verb, Adjective, Case), sentence formation & error correction, idioms & proverbs, unseen prose & poetry passages, essay writing, letter writing, Sandhi & Samas, synonyms & antonyms, major Hindi literary figures (children's literature).

Language II - English – 30 Questions (30 marks): Comprehension (unseen passage), Grammar: Parts of speech, Tenses, Modals, Articles, Prepositions, Sentence Transformation, Active-Passive, Narration, Vocabulary: Synonyms, Antonyms, One word substitution, Idioms & Phrases, Basic Pedagogy of English Language Teaching.

Mathematics – 30 Questions (30 marks): Number system, LCM & HCF, Fractions & Decimals, Simplification, Percentage, Profit & Loss, Simple & Compound Interest, Ratio & Proportion, Average, Time & Work, Time & Distance, Mensuration (Rectangle, Square, Triangle, Circle), Data management (Bar graph, average), Pedagogical issues & teaching methods.

Environmental Studies (EVS) – 30 Questions (30 marks): Our body & health, Materials & properties, Water & Air, Family & Community, Our surroundings, Animals, birds & plants, Transport & Communication, Natural disasters, Environment conservation & pollution, Sources of energy, EVS pedagogy & experiential learning.
🎯 Exam Pattern: Total 150 MCQ questions, 150 marks. Duration: 2 hours 30 minutes. No negative marking (as per official guidelines). Minimum qualifying marks: 60% for General/OBC and 55% for SC/ST.
